Damage to office building in Jersey
Office building damaged during construction of piles and ground beams for new building. Retained by the Developers to advise in respect of the cause of damage and appropriate remedial works. Investigations carried out followed by preparation of an expert report. Case settled following expert’s meetings/discussions.

Subsidence of factory units in Sussex
Six factory units suffering from excessive cracking and distortions. Retained by the Landlords to advise on a solution. Investigations and monitoring initiated concluding that damage was caused by adjacent trees owned by the Local Authority. Reports and discussions to obtain removal of trees. Continued monitoring has shown stabilisation of buildings with superstructure repairs to be carried out.

Cliff collapse, Isle of Wight
Large area of talus at base of cliff slipped causing extensive damage to hotel.
Retained by Insurers to advise on cause of collapse, arrange repair of building and stabilisation of talus slope. Report prepared. Case settled following expert’s meetings/discussions.

Mine collapse, Home Counties
Recent development of residential properties over old chalk mine workings. Partial collapse resulted in infilling to mine. Retained by property owners to monitor their properties and advise in respect of damage. Case settled at mediation.

Failure of underpinning to residential property, Hampshire
Property had been underpinned by others using mass concrete but damage had continued. Retained by property insurers to investigate and monitor. Established that damage was being caused by trees and underpinning was inadequate. Case settled following expert report and meetings.

Bank collapse, Isle of Wight
Development works undermined a bank causing landslip and damage to a road above. Retained by the Developer in respect of a claim against their Consulting Engineer. Case settled following expert report and pre-action protocol meetings.

Flooding of farm buildings, Hampshire
Storm water runoff from highway, land drainage and drainage system from nearby development had resulted in occasional flooding of adjacent property. Retained by building insurers to advise on cause of flooding. Expert’s report and meetings. Court attendance.

Local Authority flats, Hampshire
Slipping accident on stairs. Retained by Claimant's solicitor. Case settled following slip tests and preperation of expert report.

Residential property, Hampshire
Edwardian property was found to have various structural defects that were not reported on by the Surveyor. Retained to advise on extent of defects at the time of purchase and appropriate remedial works. Case settled.

Stone boundary wall and adjacent buildings, Guernsey
Stone wall/buildings between two residential properties in poor condition which were the subject of a neighbour’s dispute. Various repairs and works had been carried out by one neighbour. Retained to establish condition of wall and extent of any further repairs required. Expert report and meetings.

Failure of piled underpinning, Hampshire
Residential property was suffering continued damage despite piled underpinning to whole property. Investigations and monitoring confirmed defects in piles. Expert report and meetings resulted in settlement.

Conservatory, Isle of Wight
Severe damage of recently built conservatory. Monitoring and investigations confirmed subsidence due to adjacent trees and inadequate foundations. Expert report and advice leading to settlement.

Housing claims, Hampshire
Housing dilapidation claims by tenants on Council owned properties. Retained by the Council. Investigations, expert reports and Scott Schedules on several properties leading to settlement.

Severe road accident following heavy rainfall.
Investigations into highway drainage, land drainage and water flow over the carriageway. Expert report and discussions leading to settlement.

Coastal Landslip, Hampshire
Coastal erosion had resulted in landslip of an area of land containing a right of way to the beach. This was the subject of a neighbours’ dispute. Investigations carried out, expert report on an SJE basis. Court attendance.

Traffic calming, Hampshire
Heavy traffic passing over road humps outside a residential property was causing unacceptable vibrations and damage. Monitoring carried out, expert report and technical discussions leading to road humps being removed.

Rights of Way, Cotswolds
Neighbours' dispute regarding adequacy of two alternative rights of way. Site investigation, assessment of traffic and adequacy of construction. Expert reports, meetings and Court attendance.
